Research Highlights
1. Bioinspired proton exchange membrane (PEM) for fuel cell technology 2. Novel designs PEMFC for performance enhancement at high current densities. 3. Newly developed PEMFC features alter the benefits of baffled channels in improving PEMFC performance 4. Proposed lightweight and high efficiency PEMFC for the next generation of energy storage applications
Cellulose waste, byproduct generated from nitro chemical industry, can be hydrolyzed to microcrystalline cellulose (MCC)
MCC can be modified to cellulose derivatives including cellulose acetate (CA) and sulfonated cellulose (SC)
CA can be dissolved in a DMF : acetone solution (1 : 1 wt. ratio) and then fabricated into a CA membrane via electrospinning.
The utilization of the newly developed bioinspired-SC membrane in fuel cell stacking for PEMFC enables the enhancement of PEMFC performance and the development of improved PEMFC features
