The 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on Green Chemical Engineering and Sustainability (APCS-2) was held from 16–18 October 2026 at the Hilton Hotel Zhengzhou, Henan, China. Hosted by Henan University and the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conference followed the successful APAC Green & Sustain 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2025 and organized by the Hub of Talents: Sustainable Materials for Circular Economy (HubSustainMat) and the Center of Excellence on Petrochemical and Materials Technology (PETROMAT). Prof. Hathaikarn Manuspiya, Head of HubSustainMat, chaired APCS-2 and delivered a plenary lecture titled “Tailoring Porous Bacterial Cellulose Janus Membranes for Sustainable Oil-Water Separation.” Other HubSustainMat members, including Prof. Boonyarach Kitiyanan, Asst. Prof. Bhumin Than-ardna, and Dr. Satita Thiangtham, also contributed through oral presentations showcasing research on green chemical recycling, CO2 capture, and biomass waste valorization. The conference brought together researchers and experts to exchange knowledge and discuss advances in green chemical engineering and sustainability, featuring approximately 240 oral presentations and more than 80 poster presentations. The scientific program covered six key themes: Green Reactions & Separation Processes; Biomass & Waste Valorization; CO2 Capture, Conversion & Utilization; Photo/Electric-Driven Low-Carbon Processes; Materials & Devices for Energy Storage and Hydrogen; and AI, Big Data & Intelligent Design. Complementary activities included the Industry-Academia Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum, Young Scholars Forum, Meet the (Journal) Editors, and Graduate Student & Postdoc Forum, providing further opportunities for knowledge exchange and engagement among researchers and industry professionals. Building on the connections established through APAC Green & Sustain 2025, APCS-2 reflects the continued collaboration among academic institutions and research networks across the Asia-Pacific region. These ongoing relationships provide a foundation for advancing research and innovation in sustainable materials and circular economy solutions, while exploring the potential of green technologies and AI to support a more sustainable future.
